# Enable HugePages on Linux

Check the size of hugepages

grep Huge /proc/meminfo

To enable hugepages run

sudo sysctl -w vm.nr_hugepages=16

To ensure that the change stays persistent across future reboots, open

For Arch Linux the file is in

sudo vim /etc/sysctl.d/sysctl.conf

For Debian the file is in

sudo vim /etc/sysctl.conf

Add at the end of the file

vm.nr_hugepages = 16

Reboot for these changes to take effect

sudo reboot

The size of the hugepages can be has high as need
